Clean Earth, Inc. a leader in providing disposal and recycling solutions for contaminated soils, dredge material, drill cuttings, hazardous waste, and consumer commodities announced today the acquisition of privately owned EWS Alabama, Inc., located in Glencoe, Alabama. This acquisition will mark Clean Earth’s sixteenth fixed-based facility in the United States, and fourth RCRA Part B hazardous waste facility.
Headquartered in Glencoe, Alabama, EWS has utilized advanced technologies to provide a wide range of hazardous and non-hazardous waste management services. EWS serves approximately 250 customers in eleven states across the country from its company-owned, 65,000 square foot fully permitted hazardous waste RCRA Part B facility. Situated on 42 acres, the facility is well equipped to handle various waste streams and to support increased capacity. The addition of EWS to Clean Earth’s portfolio expands the company’s waste streams to include various medical wastes, university waste, and the ability to recycle new forms of non-hazardous wastes.
Chris Dods, President and CEO of Clean Earth stated, "Since 1996, EWS has been a leader in providing waste management services. Our combined geographic footprint will open up new markets for Clean Earth, expanding our customer base and enhancing our growth prospects. In addition, EWS's regulatory permits and extensive processing capabilities will enable us to recycle carbon black, utilize fuel blending, process medical waste and recycle new forms of non-hazardous waste, opening up new opportunities to service our existing regional customers as well as acquire new national customers."
EWS and Clean Earth share very much the same vision, to be the premier provider of services to generators and consumers of waste materials and byproducts in North America. “We will provide progressive, sustainable, environmentally responsible solutions for treatment, recycling, reuse, transportation, and disposal. By operating as a highly integrated organization and maintaining the highest ethical, environmental, safety, and service standards, we will maximize value for our customers, employees, shareholders, and the environment.”
Most recently in May of 2016, Clean Earth acquired Phoenix Soil, a soil treatment and recycling facility, located in Plainville Connecticut. With the addition of these facilities Clean Earth has expanded hazardous waste services nationwide, and provides a soil recycling solution for customers in the New England market.
