Arizona’s Generator Improvements Rule Goes into Effect

With Arizona’s rule going into effect last month, 22 states and territories have now adopted the Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule. As areas continue to analyze the rule, we are continuing to monitor the latest rulemaking activity.

Below, we outline the most recent anticipated schedule of states and territories adopting the Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule:

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Utah, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia

Anticipated Rulemaking in 2019

Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Wisconsin and Wyoming

Arkansas, California, Maine, Missouri, North Dakota, New York, Texas and Washington, D.C.

Arizona’s effective date was Feb. 2, and Washington state has an effective date of April 28. Wisconsin is having a public hearing on its drafted rules in April. Indiana is expected to host a public hearing on the state’s proposed rules this May.
