Celebrating Milestones: Clean Earth’s 2023 Year in Review
As the year draws to a close, Clean Earth reflects on its many achievements. Throughout the months, employees worked to reach innovative heights and provide the highest quality service while making the world cleaner and greener. As we move forward with unwavering tenacity into 2024, here is a look back at our most notable achievements of 2023.
January: Clean Earth’s Lancaster, TX, Facility Earns RIOS™ and R2v3 Certifications
The addition of the RIOS™ and R2v3 Certifications marked Lancaster, TX, as the company's fifth electronic recycling facility. Through extensive third-party audits, the facility demonstrated our employee’s ability to safely and effectively handle and manage e-waste.
February: Clean Earth’s Fullcircle™ Advanced Waste Lifecycle Program Supports Sustainability Achievements
The Fullcircle program transformed over sixteen million pounds of soap-like by-product into an industrial cleaner, converted over 23 million pounds of waste material to more sustainable engineered fuel solutions, and diverted over 1 million pounds of bulk-making waste from traditional disposal to compost.
March: Employees Celebrate International Women’s Day
Clean Earth hosted its annual Women in Waste webinar for customers to spark conversations related to career paths, advice and how to support women in the industry. Panelists included Clean Earth employees and customers.
April: The Company Recognizes Earth Day with ‘Clean Earth Days’ Initiative
Focused on community outreach, Clean Earth held a series of employee-led events throughout the month of April that contributed to yet another successful year of Clean Earth Days. Events included park beautification, local clean-up projects, donation drives and more.
May: Connect+ Recognized as a Bronze Winner for Stevie American Business Award
Connect+, the Company’s proprietary customer portal, consolidates data from a variety of operating systems and applications, in one easy-to-use web-based tool for the company’s customers in the retail industry. The portal was chosen as a Bronze Winner for the Stevie American Business Award in Customer Service Solutions, an award that commends public recognition of customer service worldwide.
June: Clean Earth’s Charlotte, NC Facility Receives Environmental Excellence Award
Clean Earth started off June by receiving the Silver Charlotte Water Environmental Excellence Award. As Charlotte Water serves as the largest public water and wastewater utility in the Carolinas, they feel passionate about recognizing facilities that go above and beyond the regulatory requirements to ensure the city receives quality water.
July: Clean Earth Opens New Site in Fredericksburg, VA
Clean Earth’s new facility is service center for the management, treatment, disposal and recycling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Specifically, the facility attends to client services, 10-day truck-to-truck transfer and remediation.
August: Clean Earth Named on Engineering News-Record's Annual Top 200 Environmental Firms List
Maintaining a spot on the top 30 for the third consecutive year in a row, Clean Earth was recognized as #28 in the Engineering News-Record’s Annual Top 200 Environmental Firms List. All rankings are determined by the percent of 2022 gross revenue reported from environmental services; where Clean Earth brought in $827.8 million, of which 100% was derived from environmental solutions. September: Driver Appreciation Week
Drivers are at the core of Clean Earth, interfacing with and serving our customers daily. Always best-in-class, our drivers prioritize safety, exude professionalism, and champion sustainability. In honor of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Clean Earth seized the opportunity to thank all transportation team members, emphasizing their significant contributions to the operations community and the critical work they complete to serve our customers daily. Facilities across the nation spent the month arranging thoughtful ways to share the heavy-hearted appreciation.
October: Clean Earth’s Avalon, TX Facility Acquires New Shredding System
In October, Clean Earth utilized leisure time to engage in facility upgrades. Serving as the facility’s second shredding system, the shredder processed 160 55-gallon drums per shift, doubling the facility’s capacity. Tending to these improvements is a gateway for Clean Earth to increase capacity for loose-packed products as the new system catalyzes higher automation levels, minimization of labor and handling, and the internalization of waste that was historically shipped to third parties.
November: Clean Earth Participates in Philanthropy Project with Home Depot and The Salvation Army
To help improve the current conditions of a Veterans rehabilitation clinic, the event took place at the Veterans Village of Cathedral City in Palm Springs, CA. In just four hours, dozens of pieces of furniture were built, rooms were revamped, the area was landscaped, and several murals and flags were painted. Overall, the event raised $5.8M to support Veteran rehabilitation clinics nationwide.
December: Clean Earth Celebrates Compliance Day
Across our offices, employees sported their best green attire for Compliance Day, a reminder to uphold ethical standards. Many facilities held events to express the importance of fostering a culture of integrity and doing business the right way.
After celebrating Clean Earth’s accomplishments, the Company is optimistic that 2024 will be an even more fruitful and exciting year, as it leverages its strengths and opportunities to fine-tune an environment that is rich in sustainable and compliant solutions.
