NOVEMBER 13, 2017
The state of Illinois recently proposed changes to its hazardous materials and hazardous waste transport regulations. The proposed rule changes would bring Illinois regulations up to date with current hazardous materials regulations and references so they are compliant with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
The proposed changes also reference several Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) regulatory citations for packaging, labeling and management of hazardous materials.
The proposed changes were released on October 20, 2017 in the Illinois Register and can be read in full here. Public comment period officially ends on December 4, 2017 and there is no hearing date scheduled at this time.
