Clean Earth, Inc. Announces Acquisition of EWS Alabama, Inc.

CLEAN EARTH, INC. ACQUIRES ITS FOURTH RCRA PART B HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY WITH UNIQUE CAPABILITIES TO RECYCLE CARBON BLACK AND HANDLE VARIOUS MEDICAL WASTES.

Clean Earth, Inc. a leader in providing disposal and recycling solutions for contaminated soilsdredge materialdrill cuttingshazardous waste, and consumer commodities announced today the acquisition of privately owned EWS Alabama, Inc., located in Glencoe, Alabama.  This acquisition will mark Clean Earth’s sixteenth fixed-based facility in the United States, and fourth RCRA Part B hazardous waste facility.

Headquartered in Glencoe, Alabama, EWS has utilized advanced technologies to provide a wide range of hazardous and non-hazardous waste management services. EWS serves approximately 250 customers in eleven states across the country from its company-owned, 65,000 square foot fully permitted hazardous waste RCRA Part B facility. Situated on 42 acres, the facility is well equipped to handle various waste streams and to support increased capacity.  The addition of EWS to Clean Earth’s portfolio expands the company’s waste streams to include various medical wastes, university waste, and the ability to recycle new forms of non-hazardous wastes.

In addition, EWS's regulatory permits and extensive processing capabilities will enable us to recycle carbon black, utilize fuel blending, process medical waste and recycle new forms of non-hazardous waste, opening up new opportunities to service our existing regional customers as well as acquire new national customers."

Most recently in May of 2016, Clean Earth acquired Phoenix Soil, a soil treatment and recycling facility, located in Plainville Connecticut.  With the addition of these facilities Clean Earth has expanded hazardous waste services nationwide, and provides a soil recycling solution for customers in the New England market.
